INFORMATION ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
For the understanding among cultures.
The exhibition "DREAMS OF INDIA XXL" is the result of sociological research on "100 Indian families tell us their stories" developed by WORLDBRAND Society by its founder, Jesús Menéndez Pabón. Who after leaving behind the life of an executive, he founded this organization aimed at the understanding of cultures. He lived for 3 years with different communities of Asian subcontinent to portray their lives. From Bombay Slums, the Gypsy sands of Rajasthan, Fakir,s of West Bengal villages, the secrets of theeternal city of Varanasi, the Muslim corner of Kashmir or Tamil Nadu,s villages.
All this in order to break the clichés of how are perceived other cultures in the "developed society" and generate a dialogue through which we can feel and understand, regardless of races, classes, caste, language, beliefs or backgrounds, finally we are not so different.
THE CORNER OF DREAMS
To generate dialogue.
The exhibition includes in the venue a corner especially designed to share dreams, thus generating a dialogue through this universal language on both sides of the planet.
On the one hand it will show many of the hundreds of dreams collected over 4 months in the exhibition of WORLDBRAND Society at the National Museum of anthropology in Madrid (24 Nov. 2011 to 8 April 2012). Written or drawn dreams that visitors deposited in a ballot box specially designed for this purpose and that are our real treasure.
On the other hand, the Box will be present at the exhibition "DREAMS OF INDIA XXL" of Matadero Madrid, urging visitors to also share their own dreams.
